Chocolate Tiramisu

📝 Ingredients:

  • 🧀 400 g mascarpone cheese
  • 🍪 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 🍫 100 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 🍬 80 g granulated sugar
  • ☕ 15 cl cold coffee
  • 🥚 4 eggs
  • 🌸 1 tablespoon Amaretto (optional)
  • 🌟 Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting

📋 Directions:

  1. 🥚 Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the granulated sugar until pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
  2. 🍫 Melt the Chocolate: Melt the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave. Stir the melted chocolate into the mascarpone mixture.
  3. 🥚 Whip the Egg Whites: In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. ☕ Soak the Ladyfingers: Mix the coffee and Amaretto (if using) in a shallow dish. Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the liquid, ensuring both sides are moistened.
  5. 🍪 Assemble the Tiramisu: In the bottom of 4 verrines, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers. Add a layer of the chocolate mascarpone cream, followed by another layer of ladyfingers, and finish with a second layer of cream.
  6. ❄️ Chill: Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 3 hours to set.
  7. 🌟 Serve: Just before serving, dust the top of each verrine with a fine layer of cocoa powder.
