- π― 150 g honey
- π¬ 50 g granulated sugar
- π 100 g raisins
- π 30 g candied orange peel, finely chopped
- π« 100 g dark chocolate
- π« 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- π§ 10 g butter (for greasing the pan)
- π¬ 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for garnish)
π Directions:
- π₯ Toast the Almonds:
- Preheat your oven to 320Β°F (160Β°C).
- Spread the almonds on a non-stick baking sheet and toast for about 8 minutes until golden and aromatic. Let cool, then roughly chop them.
- π« Prepare the Dry Mix:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, toasted almonds, raisins, and finely chopped candied orange peel.
- π― Make the Caramel:
- In a saucepan, heat the honey and granulated sugar until it forms a light caramel.
- π« Incorporate the Chocolate:
- Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler until smooth. Remove the caramel from the heat and stir in the melted chocolate.
- π₯ Combine and Mix:
- Pour the chocolate and caramel mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
- π§ Prepare the Pan:
- Line a round cake pan with greased parchment paper. Pour the mixture into the pan and press it down firmly to create an even layer.

- Bake in the oven at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 40 minutes.

- Allow the panforte to cool completely before removing it from the pan. Dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.
